Title companies usually have a title attorney on staff in the event of complex title issues. It is rare, however, that the customer will actually have access to the title attorney to address any questions or concerns. As part of our exemplary service, each client does meet with our attorney and has access to speak with our attorney as needed. Attorney Keith Stitt will speak with you directly and will assist you with complex title issues. Mr. Stitt is available to address any related legal issues such as probate, creating a will or simple trust to protect your property.
Colonial Title, Inc. may also assist you with preparing all the necessary contracts such as owner financing through notes and mortgages. In the event of complex title issues, we prepare the deeds and other legal documents to clear title defects. We also provide advice and counsel if the property is in probate.
No, you do not necessarily have to come to our office at the closings, title preparation or to close on refinancing. If you are out of town, you have the option of meeting with one of our affiliate offices in your county, or for a nominal fee, we could send someone to you in order to have the documents signed.
